Re: 3 weeks to probation period....I would strongly recommend you lie low
for three week, because here in Europe, after your probation period is over,
it's much harder for them to get rid of you.
* If they are going to fire you, they'll do it within the next three weeks.
* If they aren't, then causing waves right now might cause them to rethink
their view of you and fire you anyway.
* If you bide your time, collect your thoughts/reasoning/rationale, then you
can work on a longer term strategy of how to improve the company's
documentation.
Another question arises, which is: is the writer's work better than no
documentation at all? If the answer is Yes, then you can work on a
partnership with him to improve the docs. If No, then you can work on
replacing him....but I'd work on that after your probation period expires.
