I don't think it's possible to link to a Word bookmark. Hyperlinks to office
docs automatically open at the front so you could try creating a TOC for the
document and telling the user to click on Chapter1 when it opens (messy, I
know), or just saving the word docs as HTML or probably, best of all, saving
as PDF - with which you can link to bookmarks.
As in <a href= "..documentname.pdf#namedest=bookmarkname">
