Recently a colleague reviewed our newsletter in which
we encourage readers to "Review our website." This has
opened a discussion in my department about the proper
way to distinguish the "Web" vs "web".

My comment was that Web is short for the World Wide
Web and web is the correct way to describe an HTML (or
other programming language) site that is viewable
online.

I have searched many online dictionaries and
encyclopedias without finding a clear distinction
between the two.

Please offer any suggestions,
Kristyna Knoblauch
