If you go back and find Tom Murrell's response to:

Re: For those who hire...what makes a resume stand out?

I learned about the T-Letter from a job counselor, oh, way back in the late
1980s. I am delighted to say that it works, and I continue to use it! (Not
now because I'm employed.) And, yes, I even used it for a job opening I was
only nominally interested in. I was asked back for a third interview with
the Division's Vice President.

<suspense effect>

I received a job offer! Sigh. The salary for the Trainer/Writer position was
way too low. Yes, as Andrew and others said, they saw that job as a more
administrative one. The sad thing is the position was at _the same level_ as
the married man with children who worked in the department (I got insider
information.). I had the same qualifications and experience as he had.
However, I was single back then with only a cat.

Didn't they know that cat food and kitty litter is expensive?

Bottom line: The T-Letter most definitely got me into interviews where I
could sell myself. The salary outcome is a different topic.
