Argh... that kind of thing drives me batty. Obviously they felt you could
do the work, since they hired you; calling you a "junior" writer while
placing you in a position of responsibility was absurd.
Reminds me of the days when I was fresh out of grad school and I did nearly
all of the copywriting for a $10 million ad agency. The creative director
rubbed the "junior" label in my face whenever he wanted to try to take me
down a notch--for instance, "<sigh> I really think we're overcharging the
clients for your work; after all, you're only a JUNIOR copywriter." (They
kept charging the same hefty amount and paying me a pittance.)
I'd love to see companies base our job titles and wages on our capabilities
rather than how many "years of experience" we have.
