Hi,
First of all, thanks for all the interest and all the responses. It is very
informative!
Since the topic of military industries has come up in quite a few messages,
what can any of you tell me about security clearances, both in general and
for dual citizens? Is dual citizenship a major hindrance, or does it
generally restrict people only from the highest clearance levels?
Naturally, security clearance is a big issue for government contracts.
Well, before I hit the hay (it's late on my side of the world!), I would
like to play devil's advocate for a moment on the subject of the value of
overseas experience:
I think that living and working overseas has its advantages. For example,
when writing documents that are destined to be translated for overseas
users, writing style is a major issue. It can be argued that people who
have worked overseas have had more direct experience with many of the
issues related to writing for non-native English speakers.
That's my tuppence for the moment...
BTW -- For the record, I will be a "local" by the time that job
applications become a reality.
Paid relocation is not an issue for me, thankfully, 'cause I know I
woudln't get it anyway!! But one can always dream...
