This is my first post to this list. I have tried searching the archives for information (and numerous other places as well!) on how on earth to correctly add headers and footers to my MS Word document.

I'm a lone technical writer/ contractor and have been with my client for about 8 months. They insist on having all documentation done in MS Word. I am finishing up a 130 pg document, and have been struggling with Word to have the Headers to turn out correctly.

Specifically:
I have about 9 chapters, each chapter needs to be it's own section for the headers. I have each section set up with a different 1st page heading, and different odd and even page headings. The problem I am having is that although I set this all up correctly ( I think) when I go back to review the previous sections, somehow these additional section breaks (continuous) keep popping up! I have removed from the master document and they still keep appearing screwing up all of the headings.

I hope this post isn't too long or re-hashing a topic recently covered.
If anyone knows the mystery of how to figure this out, I would be elated!

Thank you!

Laurel
