Hi All,

The responses I received were off-list, so I thought I'd post a quick
summary for anyone interested. It looks like (as far as anyone knows)
there is no way to get the Acrobat reader to tell your printer to do
certain pages in one paper size and others in another paper size.
(sigh).

Dick Margulis had a few work-arounds to suggest:
1. design the document so that it only has one page size in the first
place
2. split drawings and flow charts that were on bigger paper into two
pages, using a connector symbol (like a line with a zig-zag breaking it
or a line segment with a numbered circle) to link the two pages
3. deliver in paper (he related the details of a pre-pdf job he did, in
which the paper was printed and folded with all these cool machines)

For anyone that is looking for the answer to a related question: how do
you get an electronic copy of a pdf with mixed page sizes, Dave Brown
and Andrew Dugas provided the following information:

Create separate pdfs for the pages of different size. Stick the pages of
one into the other using the Document/Insert Pages command. Alternative
method: Ctl+Shift+I (For you non-minimalists out there ;-) )

Others contacted me asking to share the solution when I found it, so if
anyone does know how to get those pages printed on mixed paper directly
from one pdf file, please post it to the list.

Many thanks to you guys who offered suggestions.

Eva
