I think it is useful to use numbered headings when discussing
different platforms in different chapters (but with similar
content). That way you don't have headings with the same
titles. For example 1.1 Installation procedures (for Windows NT
platform) and 2.1 Installation Procedures (for UNIX platform).
If the Chapter titles say Unix and NT - the numbering makes it
so you don't have to keep stating the platforms for each of the
following headings.
