Hello,
I am responsible for our 70+ seat single-source publishing system. I am not
a big Word fan, but I use it for when I need small things done quickly.
I have been given a 46 page internal manual. The persons responsible for it
have asked me to put this online (it gets mailed to 60+ people) and goes
through frequent revision through the year (from one centralized person who
manages all changes for the manual).
I'm not privvy to developing a doctype app and buying a 1500 piece of
software for one small manual updated by one person.
I was thinking I would just take the existing Word source, add links, and
publish as HTML. I have heard all sorts of mixed reviews of Word's HTML
publishing capabilities.
I don't want an explanation of how this is done (that not anyone else's
job...)
I just want to know if there are any really good resources on the web for
Writing HTML from Word documents. I have searched Google, and the resources
it
threw back were lackluster at best to downright useless.
Any tips and tricks, while not being solicited, are appreciated as well.
I have found bits and pieces from the TECHWR-L archives, but no start to
finish explanations.
