For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Please accept a lurker's thanks to everyone who replied, on list and off
list, to my question about "deprecated."
Initially, I was averse to using it, but as I read folks' comments and
thought back to how I'd seen the term used elsewhere, I came to like it.
Sort of like certain pungent cheeses or single-malt whiskeys.
I especially liked some of the propsed alternatives -- doomed, senile,
lame duck, and so on.
You guys are pretty good when you're not trying to rile up Eric <smirk>.
