Ha, that's great. When this company laid me off, there was a clause in my
severance agreement that said I could not re-apply with the company for any
open position. Some over-paid, not-in-touch legal eagle sure made his $500
for that hour in coming up with that. They seemed to make a big point about
the fact I could never re-apply. When I started laughing and promised them
it wouldn't be an issue, they got upset.

In their defense, though, they shipped my belongings home (that I packed)
via UPS so that I wouldn't have to carry them on the train. Ever see someone
on the train/bus with a box full of belongings and a dejeced look? They
provided us with an outplacement service as well.
