Hello,

Sorry about the belated reply, I get the digest version.

I have the same problem with color dumping when I turn a Word or
Publisher file into a pdf. I can't get my HP Laser Jet 4050 PCL Series
printer to create a usable .prn file at all when I use it to Print to
File. I downloaded the PPD files for HP, it still doesn't work.
I use Windows 2000 and the only printer driver that I can download
appears to be the AdobePS Generic PostScript Printer. I have set my job
options to Leave Colour Unchanged and it still doesn't work. Any ideas
for this?

Please reply offlist.
Thanks!

Check your job options and print options. You don't
want a shrink to fit option selected. As for the wrong
template, I'm confused as to what could be triggering
that. Is that template in use anywhere in your FM
files? Distiller just churns out what you put into it.
Unless you're using a previous job option in which the
footer and such is somehow included via postscript
(but that's usually done in the FM files themselves).

Don't use a generic PS driver. Go to Adobe.com and
download the latest and greatest for your OS. As for
color dumping, you can avoid this in the job options
you use, and by making sure your driver has color
selected instead of monochrome.
