JOB: Sr. Technical Writer, Manhattan, NY

Here is an opening at ProSpring Technical Staffing. Go to
http://www.prospring.net/Jobs/jobs.html if interested as you must apply
via
our website. Please do not just send a resume.

Number: TW-466
Title: Sr. Technical Writer ( 4 week contract)
Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY
Rate: BOE

The world's leading transaction facilitator for goods and services
purchased over the Internet needs a technical writer to document the code
for a new software system.

The work can be done off-site. The company will FedEx a CD with the code
and you will send back the code after it has been documented.

Requirements:

Experience writing and/or documenting C programs.
Experience writing and/or documenting Perl programs.
Experience writing and/or documenting WIN32 API.
Experience writing and/or documenting RAS API.
Experience writing and/or documenting Java.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has done both programming and
writing.

It is about a month of work if one person is doing all the documenting,
but
they are aware that one person may not know all of the above. If they go
with multiple writers, then they will have each writer document the part
they know best.

Note: The client has already rejected one applicant because his
experience
was too light, so they are looking for someone who REALLY understands the
code he/she will be documenting.

Past coding experience is a big plus.

14 November 2001 - 8:30 am-4:15 pm
Presenter: Yves Savourel
Cost: $795 reduced rates available for more than 1 registration

The seminar will look at XML from the localization viewpoint: as a format

take advantage of to improve their processes. An overview of the
basic facets of XML and its related technologies, underlining the
internationalization aspects will be included. Yves will present
guidelines to create XML vocabularies and to author XML documents
with localization in mind. He will illustrate how to implement

interfaces will be covered by looking at the various current
solutions, addressing some of their implementation issues and examining
how to take advantage of interoperability to create alternate efficient
processes. The class will also delve into the different existing
localization-related formats, it will look more especially at XLIFF and
