ANNOUNCE: Document Assembly Software

Pathagoras(tm) -- a collection of 3 distinct add-in systems
which make \'processing words\' in Microsoft Word97, 2000 and XP a
less challenging task. Its features include:
(1) improved disk navigation over other methods
(including the ability to directly jump from one directory to
the next without the traditional \'up, down and across\'
technique),

(2) extensive enhancements for saving new or existing documents,

and

(3) simple and intuitive document assembly capabilities using a
unique and cleverly designed checkbox screen (from which the
operator can insert, assemble or open the selected documents.

A well documented and easy to navigate web site describes the
features in great detail. http://www.pathagoras.com

JOBS: Technical writers in Pasadena and Burbank, California

Here are 2 new openings at ProSpring Technical Staffing. Go to
http://www.prospring.net/Jobs/jobs.html if interested and apply via our
website. Please do not just send a resume.

Number: TW-468
Title: Technical Writer (6-12 months on-site)
Location: Burbank, CA
Rate: BOE, but about $30/hr

A Southern California amusement park needs a technical writer to write
ride
maintenance manuals. You will do original research from schematics and
interviews with engineers, then translate the raw data into repair and
maintenance procedures.

Note:

o. This position requires previous experience writing electro-mechanical
maintenance technical manuals, such as automotive or aircraft maintenance
procedures, aircraft control systems, special effects, other control
systems, etc.

o. You must also have previous experience reading and documenting changes
to schematic diagrams. You do not have to have experience designing
schematics, but you must have worked with sufficient number of schematics
over the years to know the basics and to understand enough about what you
are reading so the engineers do not have to "spoon feed" information to
you.

o. You will have to occasionally go to the theme park after hours (after
11
pm or from 7 or 8 am) to take photos, query the maintenance personal
(primary users of the manuals), and ask questions of the engineers when
they are on site, etc. This should only be 1 to 5 times over the life of
the contract, but being able to do this is a requirement.

Requirements:

10+ years experience in writing electronic and mechanical technical
manuals.

Experience with FrameMaker.

Experience with PhotoShop.

Experience with Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with CorelDraw.

A degree or certificate in electronics is a plus.

Previous experience writing amusement park ride maintenance manuals a
major plus.

Able to go to the theme park after hours occasionally outside of normal
park hours.

Number: TW-467
Title: Jr. Help Author (1-3 months on-site)
Location: Pasadena, CA
Rate: $18/hr

A company needs a junior help author/tech writer to convert online
documentation project from WinHelp 4 to HTML-based help.

Page layouts range from free-flowing text to reference information in
tabular formats. Work consists of applying style sheets, styling tables,
and sizing ActiveX popup windows using ForeHelp.

Requirements:

1 year experience using ForeHTML *Version 4 or higher* to produce
InterHelp
projects.

Previous experience converting large WinHelp systems to HTML-based help.
