Thank you everyone who responded to my Excel question.

It seems that all of the advice was exactly the same. Excel files are called "workbooks" that contain "worksheets".

Why then doesn't Microsoft list the term Workbook in their Manual of Style?...it just says never use "spreadsheet". Argg......
