RE: no degree equals demotion

There's been a lot of good points made on this subject, and I won't offer
another opinion on what to do.

That being said, I went back and read EP's original post again, and I think
there has been an assumption made - EP's post didn't actually say whose
decision it was. All I read (mis-read?) was that EP's manager came back and
said that there would be a demotion because of a lack of degree. Before
asking your manager to stand up for you, make sure that it isn't the manager
who is making this decision based on any number of reasons.

Whether or not there is cause for the demotion (other than the lack of
degree), it's an awful situation to be in (especially this close to the
holidays).
