I agree with what Jennifer said about estimating the time, and then adding a
percentage based on your assessment.
However, to avoid this project setting unwanted precedent, I suggest that
you invoice the employer and state "Work for Hire" as a detail. This will
keep the job separate from any other work they may offer you, and can not be
used as a standard for other possible manuscripts.
