What are you trying to emphasize? That it's non-proprietary or that it
uses some latest-greatest technology?

These seem like two separate concepts, so I'm not sure what the best
solution is.

For non-proprietary, I agree that "industry standard" is a good choice.
Other acceptable phrases might be "commonly used," "universally accepted,"
"the de facto standard," etc....

Most substitutes for "state-of-the-art" are equally heavy-handed and
drenched in MarketingSpeak: "cutting edge," "next generation," "bleeding
edge," "innovative new technologies," etc....
