If you have military TW experience, think twice. This is a great
time to hook up with a defense project. Defense spending is
headed up and there are lots of new projects on the horizon.
Lockheed Martin and their subcontractors are already hiring TWs
like crazy (well, at least they're posting ads). You might even
find a subcontractor with a nice small-company environment.
You may not realize how much you are in demand. There are lots
of available TWs now, but relatively few with military
experience. So you are likely to command a higher salary in the
next few years. I'd suggest contracting, and try to get a higher
rate with each new project.
If you just don't want to be a TW anymore that's another story.
But I think the jobs and the $$ are going to be there for
military TWs for the forseeable future.
