Subject:RE: Buying software oneself in order to learn it From:"Domaschuk, Rob" <Robd -at- datalogics -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 17 Dec 2001 15:56:06 -0600
If you are taking classes at an accredited school (even non-credit courses
at a local community college) you *may* qualify to buy educational versions
of software. Depending upon which software app you buy, the educational
version may or may not allow you to buy upgrades - for example, if you
bought the educational version of Illustrator 10, you might have to buy the
full version (at full price) of Illustrator 11 before qualifying for upgrade
pricing.
Another option is if you own an earlier piece of software from a different
vendor (say, CorelDraw) you can qualify for a _competitive upgrade_ version.
All depends on what you are looking for.
