Sounds like a great idea, and a wonderful opportunity!

The topics they listed might be overly ambitious for a 1-semester course,
but it's great goal, and a very practical concept.

Also, it might get students a lot more interested than they might normally
be for what I assume is a required class. (My experience is that students
hate required classes as a matter of principal.)
