In North American English, you'll usually see either "the assembled item" or
"item you just assembled", but "the assembly" is also common. But what are
you actually writing? In general, you shouldn't have to repeatedly refer to
the item, and it would be worthwhile looking carefully at the context to see
whether you can avoid doing so.
