Side question: do technical writers make Dungeons and Dragons? The quality of
manuals has gone up overall in the industry, as notions like hypertext began to
be adopted by the geeky in their closest print form. Sidebars and call-out
boxes are pretty common now.
The new makers of D&D are in the Puget Sound, and so for the last few years
there's been some bleed-over with the high-tech job force.
"In answer to your query, Leon..." yes, I too played D&D (and am right into the
3rd edition). I think what preparing adventures did to make us technical
writers is to show us that if your materials aren't complete before you begin
play, you're left in a tight situation.
