I'm currently working with Word 97 and RoboHelp 9.2 to produce English and
French versions of the same help file. Although the help files compile and
link just fine, there appears to be a font mismatch problem that only arises
during printing of the help file from certain computers or with certain
printers: the apostrophe ( ' ) character, which looks just fine on-screen,
prints as a division symbol (÷ if that symbol comes through correctly), and
the bitmaps of user-interface icons appear to be printing at a very coarse
resolution (they're almost illegible) and at the wrong size.

A few more salient details:
- The "problem" font is the standard Truetype Arial that comes with Windows
98.
- The files print fine on our Xerox printer (with a postscript driver), but
don't print right on an HP Laserjet 4 (also with postscript).
- The apostrophe prints fine directly from Word in both languages.

Any thoughts that would help me troubleshoot this? The online help isn't
intended to be printed; we've provided a PDF of the printed manual so users
can print extra copies (or as a very secondary design goal, since we give
them a printed copy already, so they can read it online). Even so, we expect
a few folks to print it anyway just 'cause they like making our lives
difficult. <g>
