Actually most automatic pressing equipment is operated by two buttons (usually positioned 180 degrees apart) that require the operator to have both hands on the controls.  The prevents them from having their hands under the press.  Of course, that doesn't do anything to stop somebody's beer belly from getting in the way. <g>
