Would it be considered
a) tacky or
b) just a waste of time
to send them another copy, perhaps with a better-worded cover letter, in hopes that the first time around they merely overlooked my obvious sterling qualities? :-)

I have been known to completely rewrite my resume and cover letter, and send the resume a second time. The first time I did this, I was flooded with offers within 24 hours of a major resume rewrite (of course, the market was somewhat different then :).
