Subject:upgrade from 98 to XP From:John Posada <jposada01 -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 4 Feb 2002 14:18:02 -0800 (PST)
I'm using W98 and muy laptop has 196 mb ram. I go in and out of
applications that require large pices of RAM fairly often throughout
the day and I find that I must reboot often becuase 98 tends to not
give back on release, as much of thr ram as it took. Therefore, my
available resources grt smaller and smaller until I reboot.
I want to upgrade to XP (not 2000, pleasee don't suggest it) and I
would like to do it without a reformat. I know it would be better if
I did, but I cannot right now.
Question...how well does the upgrade work...is it a clean upgrade?
