Subject:Re. What's happening with Interleaf? From:bharman -at- parker -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 5 Feb 2002 09:48:20 -0500
We still use Quicksilver ~ Interleaf 7. Mostly for our legacy data. Our
organization is moving away from Quicksilver to FrameMaker + SGML.
There are many reasons for this but the short story is that we need an app.
that can export to SGML, and created structured documents.
Broadvision claims to support Interleaf. Please see the email response I
have pasted below.
I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with Broadvision, or any of its
subsidiaries.

Interleaf/QuickSilver is the current version of BroadVison's flagship
publishing product. It is ideal for creating and assembling large complex
documents by
individuals or workgroups.
QUICKSILVER IS ALIVE AND WELL! There are no plans to
discontinue support of QuickSilver.
QuickSilver information has been placed on the BroadVision
web site (Products > Publishing) QuickSilver is supported and that a
new release is being planned.
The purpose of this note is to make you aware that QuickSilver is indeed a
BroadVision supported product.
You will note that the emphasis for QuickSilver is on the traditional
publishing functionality and its XML capabilities are meant to be a method
of
transitioning from the traditional publishing functions to XML and
eventually an XML
editor.
Quicksilver is sold through BroadVision's QuickSilver Inside Sales Team
located in Waltham, MA. Interested prospects and existing customers who
wish to
purchase additional licenses should call 1-800-955-5323 or through

the right
to use the software for that year. Quicksilver must be renewed each year
in order
to continue using the license.
Perpetual use licenses are available, as an exception only (with prior
approval of the Quicksilver Inside Sales Team), for those customers who are
unable to
purchase subscription licenses due to certain restrictions.
If you have any questions about the program , please contact Abigail
Turnbull at 800 955 5323 ext. 1091 or Beverly Smith at 7709921691.
