What else am I doing besides technical writing?

When my current department decided they needed me only part-time but didn't
want to lose me, they made a deal with the Project Office to "share" my
time. Now I work part-time for two different departments. For Project
Office, I mostly do small technical writing jobs charged to various other
projects. However, I also help out with anything the Project Office people
need. The last tech writer who worked for Project Office did *not* want to
be a technical writer, so it is good that I *want* to do tech writing, but I
also figured being willing to be of value in any way I could would only help
my longevity in this company.
The big new thing has been being a back up to the Project Office mailbox
including forwarding project documents for review, storing status reports,
etc. Not very exciting. I also help project managers complete the project
documents.
I continue to learn any software I can get my hands on, read widely, and beg
for more software to train on, as well as generally trying to have a good
attitude and be useful!
So basically, I am slowly learning more about project management; however,
they are very clear here they want me to basically remain as a technical
writer. Doing tech writing here has ranged from silly little easy projects
to complex technical monstrous documents, from editing and/or merely
proofing, to collating survey results, to writing new documents and help
systems from scratch.
My arrogance of the past few years has been replaced by a more humble, yet
lovable demeanor.
