Very true. Your comment reminded me of something that
happened here yesterday.

Our payroll administrator emailed the company with
information about a new online payroll system that the
employees can use now. Clearly, he's a SME. His email
was fairly well written, but badly organized.

Then things got worse. It took two follow-up email
messages to clarify points that were not clear in the
original message.

I couldn't help but think that a technical writer --
despite not being a payroll expert -- could've caught
these problems ahead of time.
