Exactly what you did! In twenty years of writing technical documentation
I've been asked to do all sorts of things I didn't know how to do at the
time (design a database, design and create a new Web site, write
programmer's guide for various and assorted languages, and so forth). A "can
do" attitude coupled with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn will take
you further than almost anything.
