Much agreed. This is my second time subscribing (I subscribed for a couple
of years under a different address a few years ago), and the list is as
alive now as it was then.
I don't see a problem here of any magnitude. Someone mentioned that this
list is more turbulent than other lists... well, sure it is. Anyone here
subscribe to word-ms on Yahoo Groups? That's tame. Nobody gets too worked
up about anything. But when you're talking about Tab stops and image
inserts, what's to get worked up about? Eric and Deb have provided what
amounts to a departmental water cooler for technical writers, not a
professional journal. Lots of stuff gets thrown on the wall, and we have
real, natural conversations about it. In fact, I've found that the
disagreements here are pretty timid compared to virtually every other list
I've been on. Even Christian lists. Ever heard Protestants and Catholics
go at it? Calvinists and Arminians? It ain't pretty.
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. :)
