>Okay T-whirlers, here's a Monday morning survey.
As a digest member, I'm once again a day late.
>I've boiled my super-scientific survey down to the following three
>questions:
>1. List the reference books (maximum of five) that you use most
>frequently.
All of my tech writing books are at home. At work I rely on whatever
dictionary I can get my hands on. (I'm currently pining for the unabridged
OED, and have dropped numerous hints to my family that it would make a
lovely birthday gift.)
Google is also a lifesaver.
>2. In one sentence, summarize or list the kind(s) of writing you do. (i.e.
>manuals, help systems, marketing, fiction, humor, journalism, weird sig
>lines, etc.)
I write operator's manuals and instruction sheets for commercial mowers,
lawn and garden tractors and an assortment of attachments; I also coordinate
the development of technical/service manuals with outside studios.
>.....and to keep this truly scientific......
>3. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Love cats, tolerate dogs (but only big dogs, have to resist the urge to drop
kick small dogs). Unfortunately, I'm allergic to both.
4. Absolutely hate diet soda. I'm currently in a recovery program for my
Mountain Dew addiction. I'd do much better on it if only they'd let me have
my expresso maker at work.
