Reference books you use the most

I've been reading all the entries for this subject with great interest and I
just have one question: Among all the thesauri and dictionaries, doesn't
anyone (Word users, particularly) use SHIFT + F7 when they need a word? You
get a list of synonyms. I have always found it to be all I need. Does this
make me an amateur? :-)

BTW, I am definitely out of the loop. I am neither a cat nor a dog person
and Diet Coke makes me sick! :-)
