Subject:WordPerfect 8.00.225 to Word 9.0.2720 From:"Mark Lockwood" <markl -at- dicecorp -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 12 Mar 2002 12:05:36 -0700
I am converting a large amount of documentation from WordPerfect 8.00.225
to Word 2000. Although opening the files in WordPerfect and using save as
translates all the information and graphics into Word, much of the
formatting is lost, information is put into text boxes and all the text
appears in PRIVATE fields.
All of the other workarounds I tried, based on using Word to import the
file, end up opening and running a utility called WordPerfect Graphics
Import 8.0. This seems to work, but after about 5 min. of processing, the
application freezes at 91%. To cancel, I have to do a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and
click End Task for Word, listed as not responding.
Does anyone know of another workaround, know about why the Import feature
locks up and/or know of another plug in I can download to convert the
files without having to reformat all of the text?
