RE: on technical writers

Lots of "nontechnical" writers out there who could n't make the $$$ nut. Me
neither but as a poet I never really tried. (The baccanalian rewords were
ample compensation.) IMHO poetry is better as a byproduct of living life, so
I've always tried to do just that.

Getting into tech writing was the best thing that happened to me. Without
getting too far into it (boring), let's just say tech writing allowed an
unrecognized innner geek to blossom. I'd taken tech and engineering courses
throughout high school but took off on the bohemian writer-artist track from
college onward. All along my inner geek was starving for attention!

Now the geek and the freak balance each other nicely.

And oh yeah, tech writing way helped my creative writing, but I also think
my understanding of poetry in some weird way has helped my understanding of
code...
