>>If the Andy Richter show is at all successful, everyone and their sibling
will want to work in a crowded office for some faceless corporation while
their innermost dreams and aspirations whither and die like so many autumn
leaves, their hour of fruition long since gone, fallen to the ground to
await the cold snows of an inexorably approaching winter.
Worse yet, my salary might go down.<<

On the other hand (not to be unsympathetic to your salary, Andrew) my boss
might get the idea that when I stare off into space I'm actually rearranging
the universe to suit my personal whims. Now would that be good or bad? ("No,
I will not update the documentation just because you made the first of the
seventy-first code changes and the release date is today. I'll just alter
reality so that you are now an unemployed COBOL programmer desperately
looking for work as Ted in a Dilbert cartoon.")

Jane Carnall
The writers all stand around a cauldron chanting and occasionally tossing in
a small universe. Unless stated otherwise, these opinions are mine, and mine
alone. Apologies for the long additional sig: it is added automatically and
outwith my control.
