I think another thing the general public reacts to is the sometimes quirky
sense of humor many of us seem to share--quite often they don't seem to
"get it." I still haven't lived down the time, while playing Scrabble with
my kids, that I made a pun about "dognap" (the canine version of
"kidnap"--by the way, neither word was being used in the game, and I
haven't checked Webster's to see whether "dognap" is listed). I made up a
quick definition about dognap having to do with a dog's fur looking darker
if rubbed in a particular direction--any seamstresses out there will know
what I mean--and they haven't let me live it down yet.

Who still thinks the dognap definition was clever--is this evidence I need
to get a life, or what?
