Thanks for all who responded to the FrameMaker 6.0 question I posed earlier.
Now, here is one that was not addressed: If I work on a document in
FrameMaker 6.0+SGML without using any of the SGML features, can another
writer using only the plain-jane 6.0 open the document with no problems?
I know that the FrameMaker+SGML can be saved as a mif file and then be
opened in 5.5 or 6.0, but mif files seem to be much larger and I would like
to avoid the mif route if possible.
I can't test this out at the moment as the 6.0 version that has been ordered
for the second writer has not yet arrived. I am working onsite for another
company. My company has furnished me 6.0+ and 5.5, but has not ordered
plain-jane 6.0. The writer from the other company is the one who will get
the 6.0 plain-jane and must maintain the files after I leave.
Thanks again.
