David, thanks for pointing out the importance of the output side of the equation. XML (or SGML) is fine, but if people need to read the content, it needs to be presented well.

You don't need to purchase E3 to publish to the formats David mentions. Epic Editor, when you bundle in the Web/Wireless option, will publish to all of those targets, and would be the better choice (vs. E3) for the type of work described in the original message. The product comes with some basic templates for out-of-the-box work, but most folks would likely create their own XSL style sheets.
