Are you sure it's three sentences, or is it three ideas/principles?
In any case sounds like another incarnation of the dubious rule of seven that
instead of being a used guideline it's used by poor writers as a replacement for
intelligence and judgment. These 'rules' may be applicable to some obscure
situation designed for a study but nothing in this world can be blindly applied
to all situations.
Regardless, both boil down to trying to apply precision to something that hardly
needs clarifying. "Say/Write what needs to be said/written. No more, no less."
