Shauna Iannone gave me a very interesting response to my posts on this
thread. I definitely want to respond to it, but I've run out of time today
and I have to think about this one. Look for my answer in a day or two.

Some of my comments on the KM issue earlier today are also relevant here,
but the context will require some explanation.
