but is now faced with countless instances of "the CoolThingSS system" and

That would put a damper on things. Unless, of course, you used "CoolThing
system" in the original text entity (or variable or container object or
whatever) because that was what it was always called.
Or, you declare "the CoolThingSS system" a standard. Sometime, simple
stubbornness is the solution. ;-)

to conclude with is that you don't see "fainting goat" in e-mail subject
lines enough.)
