re: I keep hearing this phrase "best practise". Was wondering if any of you
have worked with this term. What does it entail, encompass and engender? It
would be different for each field. How does it affect technical writing? Any

This term is usually found in literature and discussion of quality practices
associated with the term "benchmarking." The assumption of benchmarking is
that your firm has a particular practice also performed at other firms and
that some firm out there does it best of all. Your task, then, is to
"benchmark" (compare) your firm's implementation of the process against the
industry "best practice" in order to learn how to improve. Find out more in
