That's a great idea for an advertised position or for those instances where
you've cold-called someone and they've described to you what their needs
are, but it doesn't seem appropriate when you don't really know anything
about a company other than what you can find out from their website.

I have been using a similar 3-column skills/experience/tools matrix to show,
for a given skills requirement (interviewing, presentation, document
authoring, programming, web design, etc.) what my experience is, and what
tools I've used. I have gotten great feedback from employers and recruiters
on this (although one told me to "get it all on one page").
