Which brings to mind another question--do developers and QA folks cycle
through a stint of technical writing? It would seem if they are truly
making good technical writing a priority, that the cycling would be
important for all staff.

Hope somebody can tell us....

My manager recently told me that writers at Oracle are more "technical"
than writers at other companies. She claims that writers regularly cycle
through from doc to QA to development. I don't believe that this is
true--can anyone provide more information?
