Are you confused and uncertain about the course of your tech writing career? You can ease your mind by throwing the Tech Writer's Tarot. (Soon to be available as a 32-bit version of the old Windows 3.x solitare game.)

The 22 major arcana are:

Card 1.
The Graduate: The innocent novice at the beginning of Life's sojourn.

Card 2.
The Mentor: The teacher and guide who can reveal one's potential.

Card 3.
The Admin Assistant: The gatekeeper and protector of mysteries.

Card 4.
The Coffee Machine: Represents creativity, life-force, and renewal.

Card 5.
The Executive: The keeper of order and structure, sometimes capricious.

Card 6.
The HR rep: The agent for the Executive, and moral arbiter.

Card 7.
The Lunch Buddies: Represent reassurance and loving support.

Card 8.
The Meeting: Represents decisions or conflict, sometimes stagnation.

Card 9.
The Paycheck: The source of strength and the ability to continue.

Card 10.
The SME: The solitary and usually inaccessible holder of Truth.

Card 11.
The Org Chart: Represents Fortune and Destiny, sometimes a harbinger of change.

Card 12.
The Technical Review: Consideration of facts and issuance of new direction.

Card 13.
The Laid-Off Employee: Sacrifice for the greater good.

Card 14.
Termination: The end of work, possibly leading to a new beginning.

Card 15.
The Template: Inner balance, surety, and guideance.

Card 16.
The Manager: Tormentor and taskmaster, sometimes a guide.

Card 17.
The Re-Organization: The demolition of existing structure.

Card 18.
The Contractor: Represents freedon and control of one's destiny.

Card 19.
The Contract: Represents illusion and the unrevealed.

Card 20.
The Weekend: Represents enjoyment and prosperity.

Card 21.
The Annual Review: Judgement, and reward or punishment.

Card 22:
The Sem-Retired Consultant: Represents the completion of the cycle, wisdon, and rest.
