Never mind. I figured out a Google search that worked (once I remembered to use the word "syntax").

If anyone's interested the format is:

protocol://username:password -at- URL

The "@" was what I couldn't remember.

What is the format for typing a URL with the username and password appended to the address?

It's been a long time since I've used this convention, but I have need of it now and can't remember the format.
