Sure, I'll be fair. I posted 10 criticisms of Word. Here are the things
I like about Word:

1) Ubiquity. File sharing is easy (if not robust).

2) Feature set. For light, small, and simple (not newsletters, par
example) docs, say under 100 pages, it does fine.

3) Filters. By the bunch and all pretty good.

4) Macro language. An excellent addition.

5) Help. Pretty good online help--ignoring for now the animation
garbage.

6) Familiarity. The GUI is very familiar from version to version.

7) Localized versions. It's available in many different languages.

8) Third-party tools. There are a bunch of tools that work off Word,
such as popular online help tools like RoboHelp, AuthorIT, and
Doc-to-Help.

9) Cost. For what it does, $200 is a good deal.

10) That's it. I don't have ten. ;?P

Cheers,

Sean

n the interests of fair play, I should ask the other side of the
question that I asked yesterday: what do list members like most about MS

Word? What features would you hate to be without? What interfaces
strike you as exactly right?
